No excuses

If you are a US citizen, go vote. No excuses for rain (it’s raining here in SoCal!), cold, busy schedule, or whatever. Just be a responsible citizen and vote.

  1. I doN’t understand why elections in USA are on a working day. And yes of course why some voters had to wait for hours? (I read that somewhere people waited for more then four hours, but that I can’t believe) And that never ending story about errors with electronic voting devices… It sounds like Mugabe’s stand up comedy.

In Slovenia (and most of EU) we have elections on Sunday, I never ever waited for more then 10 min to submit my vote and what is the best part on Friday midnight there is election silence, so no advertising, no cheering and other ways of pressure so voters can decide in peace who they will vote.

I truly don’t understand democracy by USA standards.
But nevertheless President of USA has much greater impact on my life then President of Slovenia.

  2. I don’t get not having a holiday to vote or voting on the weekend either. I don’t like the early voting option–we all should vote on the same day(s), at the polls. There is something communal about it. I saw a neighbor in line, for example.
And yes, paper ballots. No voting ATMs, thank you very much. 🙂
