I’ve been wanting to post about this but have been completely ensconced in the final SB2 until now–Giulio Sciorio in Phoenix is an interesting person and photographer. He is always thinking and he has come up with an idea that is going to piss off some people, but I bet it gains him a bunch of recognition. How it all will pay off in the end? Who knows. The idea? Take a hi-res version of one of his images and “remix” it yourself and share the results. More on his blog here.
Giulio is a good friend of mine, and a great inspiration to me both in business and art. I really get a kick out of the fact that he’s getting international exposure, too! Thanks Leslie, for noticing innovation when you see it 😉
I guess I don´t see how this is going to piss anyone off really. I mean he isn´t asking for spec, saying he charges 500 dollars for an unlimited usage, or talking about microstock. A little creative fun of a fairly normal photograph isn´t something people will normally get their panties in a bunch over. You sensationalist, you. 😉
I met this guy at SB2 in Atlanta in your talk. Anybody sending out blow-up dolls for promos and taking pictures of peoples’ O faces isn’t afraid of a little controversy. I think this is a good idea. He’ll probably get a lot of new ideas from what people send in.
