I’m not sure what’s worse…
I just read this article on MSNBC.com about kids in a California elementary school being forced to use buckets instead of their (working, btw) toilets. Seems that the principal implemented this as part of a lockdown during the immigration protest walk-outs.
But, it gets improbably worse. Quote:
Tim Brown, the district’s director of operations, confirmed some students used buckets but said the principal’s order to impose the most severe type of lockdown was an “honest mistake.
“When there’s a nuclear attack, that’s when buckets are used, Brown told the Times. The principal “followed procedure. She made a decision to follow the handbook. She just misread it.
Must be reassuring to know that your kids will be protected by being locked in with buckets of their own excrement in case of nuclear attack.

Wait… now we’re to have buckets in case of nuclear war? Whatever happened to getting under your desk? Are you supposed to have a bucket with you under the desk? Or has the desk thing been eliminated completely as a safe-guard against Global Thermonuclear Warfare?
I’m so confused and my Homeland Security “Orange Alert & You” manual is of no help!!

Only pre-approved, 5-gallon, orange buckets, available at Home Depot. Desks are now only considered an appropriate tool to protect against bio-chemical warfare, and then only if a sufficiently thick layer of used gum is available on the underside.
