Monthly Maintenance is, essentially, a way for photographers (and other creatives) to have some outside point of accountability. This isn't a quick fix for your business troubles. Instead, working directly with Leslie, you'll learn to set (realistic) goals and achieve them. You have your own set of behaviors, abilities, frustrations, assets, wants, and dreams; working with Leslie you'll have a regular opportunity to ask questions to make sure your staying on your own path.
This isn't therapy--it’s more like a torque-wrench to your creative nuts. You won't be working on the past and the “why” of your troubles won't be significantly examined. The focus is on the present and the future; doing not dreaming. For example, instead of examining the emotional/psychological why in why you don't make calls, we'll work on finding strategies and tactics to get the calls made.
Leslie will be your mechanic--tweaking what needs to be tweaked, offering opinions on new marketing pieces or ideas,generally helping you get the tools you need and the knowledge to use them well, but you'll be doing the work. You'll be held accountable for doing your own work, too. For example, if you say that you'll make 15 calls before your next meeting, you will be expected to make those 15 calls.
Using the phone or iChat, you'll have regularly scheduled meetings with Leslie. Agendas will be set ahead of time via email, so you'll get to decide what you really need and want out of each meeting. Also, each Monthly Maintenance package includes unlimited emails to Leslie, for when something pops into mind and you don't want to wait for your next meeting.
You'll get ideas, suggestions, hints, and virtual wrenches thrown at your head if needed, but the real point is for you to learn the skills to be your own mechanic. Over time, you will be able to diagnose and fix or even thwart business-related breakdowns on your own.
It's all about you getting the skills and the confidence to make your creative business purr like a Maserati.
